Commissariat Building Archaeological Excavation

When Brisbane’s iconic Commissariat Building was damaged in the 2011 floods, UQCHU was engaged by the Queensland National Trust to undertake archaeological excavations as part of the program of repairs. UQCHU’s work yielded a wealth of nineteenth century artefacts – bottles, porcelain, pipes and butchered animal bones – shedding light on a fascinating period in the city’s history.
